Ex-Shot Put Medalist Shot Dead Outside Calif. Home (Hartford Courant)

David Laut, who won a bronze medal for the United States in the shot put at the 1984 Olympics, was shot to death outside his home by prowlers, according to law enforcement officials and neighbors.
