Jonathan Schlussel: friends cars arent always the best way to go but if you go that way if something ever goes wrong such as payment issues or fixing problems with the car she might understand and give you a break
Karl Jantzen: Its a very good first car and insurance is good too the MPG is great. The only thing that i think is bad is the price of the parts if it breaks down. VW parts are pricey, other than that its a good car.
Christiane Cattano: i think its a good first car try it!
Theresia Fashaw: hey dude you have answered all in your question you are telling its Nice , good outlook finishing , good price , nice MPG , thin why are you asking hear just go ahead its nice choiceBest of luck and drive safe
Michel Mccaulley: Also, how are insurance costs on this car?
Kaylee Schmittou: yeah u should try it =} answer my'n http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200811...
Carlton Lastrapes: Sounds good, but spen! d the money to bring it to a shop for inspection. A car transaction is a fast way to ruin a friendship. If it blows up in 6 months, you have the inspector to blame... not your moms friend.
Sharri Scalley: It would be a good first car, considering safety first. As far as a teen needing the 1.8T, As long as they arent going to be putting money into tuning the car, it should be great. Just because it has a turbo doesnt mean its going to launch the kid into space. However I would definately check into mileage as there are alot of issues with Premature failure of the timing belts in the 1.8T engines. your best bet for getting all of the info you will ever need for volkswages is at www.vwvortex.com. Good luck...Show more
Gerardo Greist: Quite excellent! And because it was your mom's car, you can be sure about its mechanical history. Whenever something goes wrong, you can always say, "Hey mom, did the car ever ? What did that mean? Is it easy to fix?" And she will l! ikely have any warranty information still in effect, whether i! t be factory for the whole car or store warranty for something like the battery or alternator.
Olin Hallin: Yes,a VW is a very good choice and the insureance will not be bad.
Stephnie Patout: one that is super cheap! i found one that was only $400!
Damaris Weiler: no, a teenarger doesn't need a 1.8 turbo, just makes you want to speed n race cars. not to mention the turbo will raise you insurance a lot.get a 02 civic, or a vw rabbit. great first cars
Tyree Allenbrand: The insurance for the Jetta is very high for a teen driver. Also if you live in hot climates like deserts, The South West, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma etc. I would not recommend a black car especially if it has a leather interior. Black makes the inside of the car bake like an oven in hot climates. It is also very difficult to keep clean so you have to wash the car every day. Get White, Silver, or bright blue or green. Red and Yellow attracts the police. And brown is too old fashio! ned for a teen....Show more
