My car maintenance?

Jasper Mangel: With a car with that kind of mileage, it is going to take constant TLC. Start with oil changes every 3000 miles. Synthetic is better then conventional, but many will argue weather or not it is worth the expense. I would change the anti freeze about ever 30k mileschange transmission fluid about every 30k miles.Get the brakes check and possibly changed. As for tuning it up; modern cars don't take much.New air filter, change spark plugs and change plug wires (if they haven't been changed in 4-5 years.)I would also change the fuel filter about every 3-4 years.Cars are really reliable now days, but they do take some TLC. If a fluid is leaking or the car is puffing smoke, get it taken care of as soon as you can. Expect future failures. A car with that kind of mileage and age is going to have little things go out. (i.e. window motors, wipers, tires, heater.) None of it is extreamly difficult to do, but if your paying someone, you need to find a really trust! worty mechanic. That is an excellent car to learn on. Buy a maintenance book. It will pay for itself after one oil change....Show more
