Geraldo Mccalla: Cannot imagine why you want to change small format pics into large format...unless you have have got trillions of gigs to waste. JPEG is one of the best formats going. A bitmap (BMP) file is about 5 times the size of a jpeg. And every pic displayer will show jpeg. Not all paint or photo progs will show bitmap. Paint Shop is a great prog for bulk change. Esmeralda Pigram: That is ! the problem with buying cheap DVR products that are made in china they don't use proper standards making them very difficult to use and often don't include proper watermarking and encryption which can means they will quite often not stand up in court.Hopefully the company you bought it from has some tech support that speak English as there first language.Aslo many client'ss and viewer programs are not compatible with many PC platforms and OS's so I suggest you try it on a different PC or call the manufacture and see if they have an updated client/viewer program.A good DVR does not require a client or viewer it should burn playback software when it burns video bellow is a right up i did regarding why brand name DVR's are worth the money and why its not worth buying cheap CCTV equipment.A good DVR should make it very easy to view backup and distribute recorded video across different PC platforms. In the world of DVRs you can buy the equivalent of a $1,000 golf cart and a $350,000 Ferrari and everything in between. Both have 4 wheels and windshield but that is where the similarities end, it’s under the hood that counts. And using the car analogy you would be getting a golf cart that need the engine replaced if you spend $300.Just like any other consumer electronic in the end you get what you pay for. Most retailers and sellers make about a 40-80% profit margin, this is after costs like shipping and overhead. That means when you buy a product that costs $60.00 the manufacturer usually has only sp! ent $30 to build it which simply means it’s not a good product and will probably have a working life of about 2 months. There is a reason these products are 1/10 of the price of good and reliable DVR brand names. DVRs need to be good quality as they run 24/7 (20X more than the average electronic device) and process anywhere from 30-480 frames per second which in a year is over 15 billion images, and a good DVR should last 3-5 years.A true DVR requires years of research and development to facilitate the seamless integ! ration of both the hardware and software. DVRs are highly complex syste! ms that must run 24/7, processing millions of images per day and are one of the few products that can’t be made both well and cheaply. Cheap and inexpensive products like Q-see, Swan, Lorex, and other low grade DVR’s sold by Tiger Direct, Newegg, Sams Club, are not used by security professionals and should only be used to to see if the baby is sleeping and even they cost over $300 and don't offer nightvision.. They will allow you to view all your cameras instantly from anywhere in the world using either IE, or a client software.
