Horace Escue: 7-12 Better in math and science.
Lou Rought: That is wrong. It all depends on the state you are in. I am a teacher myself from California and the job market is very dry for elementary school teachers. Some of my friends have lost their jobs as teachers due to government cutbacks. I am happy to be here in Japan where teaching jobs are much more available. Might I suggest teaching English abroad after you graduate.
William Vickerman: There are far fewer graduates who want to teach higher levels of science such as chemistry and physics, as well as math grads who want to teach trig, calculus and statistics. History is a lot more common, and elementary ed of any grade level are available everywhere.
