Can vegans have milk and still be a vegan?

Cliff Tyre: Vegans do not consume anything from an animal.Yes, you would be a vegetarian.

Mitchell Pickens: True Vegans have no animal products whatsoever. So you're not considered a real Vegan if you have milk because its from an animal. Vegetarians don't eat any meat from an animal, so eating or not eating egg's has nothing to do with vegetarianism.

Robt Heemstra: Yes, but who cares about labels. Don't do it for the label. I eat what I want to eat, and don't eat what I feel is immoral. I don't care what label I fall under.

Craig Virani: You wouldn't really be a vegan but its up to you to choose what you eat and drink. Do not worry about labels.

Burt Stoecklin: No, that's just vegetarian. Don't obsess over labels. Do reassure yourself that every little bit helps the world, the animals - and your body too. If you're worried on the count of animal cruelty, try to find local dairy -- or at the very least, organic. Do research into which companies pro! duce the most humane milk (no milk is humane, but that doesn't mean you can't make a lesser of the evils choice. I do). Horizon, for example is awful. Organic Valley is somewhat better and there may well be other decent organic coops out there as well....Show more
