What's the difference between welfare and food stamps?

Michel Mccaulley: food stamps is a welfare program.

Lynn Melbourne: They are both entitlements. The people receiving them did no work to deserve them. I have no problem for the actual folks deserving them but there is gross fraud carried out by some people who participate in both programs.

Antonette Shappy: Food stamps have more restrictions on what can be purchased with them...........ie. when you're throwing a party on my dime(the taxpayer) you can use the food stamps for the chips and dips but you gotta use your welfare cash for the beer.
